  1. I think VSIPS are interesting. It is a good way to provide jobs for the locals and expanding the companies that are pairing with VSIP.Considering that Vietnam is a very strategic location, cost efficient and has a very high population.I believe that VSIP is a very smart way of increasing the economy in Hanoi and Singapore. This can also bring more business opportunities between these two countries.Although the presentation was hard to understand, the core prospects of the business could be understood easily.Singapore's land and resources are very limited whilst other countries, like Vietnam have an abundance of resources at their disposal. The countries should support and help each other.

  2. Travelled to the VSIP (Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park), super interesting , I was really interested in the Company and the presenter was also well prepared and made the presentation interesting .The VSIP is a quick expanding project , where VSIP allows certain Industries in and teach them how to run their business more efficiently. It has many strategic locations , located near highways and is super convenient , and it is near all amenities(useful facility). It is also in a robust economy , which means that it has lots of people = cheap labour + more choices. I think the singaporean running VSIP is superb and believe VSIP will be successful.VSIP also contributes greatly to Vietnam’s export and is in Vietnam not singapore as singapore is too small.Although it is so successful , They have to reject industries that are time consuming and pollute the surroundings as they are building a community as well .

  3. 3)Visit to VSIP
We had a long bus trip to VSIP Bac Ninh. We then went for a seminar with the managers.
They showed us a presentation on VSIP. We then had a Q&A session. We learnt then since
Hanoi has a lot of space and Singapore has a lot of experience. Sembcorp and Becamex started
the project. We learnt that many companies turned to vietnam due to new laws in china. We saw
a lot of big companies having factories in the VSIP.

  4. Singapore has the experience whereas Vietnam has the resources, it is only right that they merge together. We were given a presentation about VSIP’s history and future plans. It is not only about the popularity from tenants, but it is also about the location, the experience, etc. It might be hard at the beginning, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Now they have tenants such as Nokia and Oishi. We were also given a tour at VSIP Bau Dinh. It is such a big land that they used. They were also considerate for them to think about the environment and the nation itself.

  5. We went back to the hotel after visiting the school to have a short break and visited the VSIP.We were told about how this industrial park would benefit both countries, why it was built there and the marketing strategies used there, such as having Mapletree there to handle the logistics, making it more appealing for companies to build their factories there. Then we were taken around the industrial park and saw the various companies who had build factories there such as Nokia and Foster.

  6. We travelled to the VSIP, where they held a seminar for us following a Q&A for us which really helped clarify our questions. We were introduced and welcomed by people from the Marketing and Customs department. Here, I learnt that this Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Bac Ninh was managed by people-developing businesses which aimed to be like areas like Jurong and Tuas. It started in 1996 with government support on both sides. Their main supporting companies are Sembcorp and Becamex.
They aim to be environment friendly with a robust economy that has quality products that provides Comprehensive Support in 3 steps. It should also have 24/7 security, also easily accessed with plenty of highways intersecting in Bac Ninh, which happens to have 78% of it’s GDP come from the industries. It will also be in proximity to amenities in Red River Delta. Hanoi also has 60% of the universities in Vietnam, which will lead to more income if the VSIP is close to Hanoi.
The VSIP project is split into 2 phases, phase 1 where the tenants are welcome in their industrial lands, and phase 2 where the mixed development land is developed for the 50 000 workers they currently have. It also has it’s own water purification system which purifies ground and rain water.
VSIP Bac Ninh also used one of it’s 47 tenants, MapleTree smartly as a nearby solution to export material and products. MapleTree is linked to Sembcorp which also has logistics connections around the world.

  7. At the VSIP , we learned about how Singapore is very well experienced and how they helped other countries develop . The VSIP has some good companies like Nokia. The land area is huge. The Manager only accepts industries that do not pollute as it is near Hanoi.

  8. At the VSIP we have learned that good relations are very important with other countries so that we can make more situations that can benefit both parties like VSIP.

  9. VSIP provide benefits for both countries. It provide jobs in Vietnam and for Singapore, it fills in for the lack of land and resources. Not only there are factories, there are also villas and houses for workers to accommodate. Using eco-friendly tech also helps the nation as the factories will not contribute to the haze

  10. VSIP ( Vietnamese Singapore Industrial Park ) Bac Ninh have a good location as it's close to the Airport , Port , China and Hanoi . It is located in several part of Vietnam (VSIP Binh Duong , VSIP Hai Phong , VSIP Quang Ngai and of course VSIP Bac Ninh ) It is initiated by both Vietnamese and Singaporean Prime Minister in 1994. VSIP Bac Ninh finished building in 2007. They are granted a lease of 50 years. The main supporting copany is Sembcorps. I also learnt that PSA also control some other ports in other part of the world. There are many company for example Nokia and they will be more than happy to accept other company. VSIP will benefits both Singapore and Vietnam. Vietnamese economy will improve and VSIP will provide jobs opportunity for them. As Singapore does not have enough land, we can't have industrial park in Singapore so this will be an alternative.

  11. The VSIP was interesting. I learnt how they did their business here in Vietnam and the way they run their business. It has a strategic location, it is near highways and is very convenient.

  12. I felt very honoured to visit the VSIP. The employees there greeted us warmly as we settled inside the meeting room. They introduced us to their VSIP project and how things are developing right now. I felt that this is one of the good ways to help both countries in a way as even though both countries have their advantages, they will always have their own disadvantages.

  13. It was a great opportunity to have the chance to visit VSIP, a joint industrial park between Singapore and Vietnam which its main shareholders are by Sembcorp, from Singapore, and Becamex corp., from Vietnam.
The seminar was where we know more about the industrial park and where we asked questions.
The goal of VSIP is to implement an eco-friendly industrial town in developing countries.
VSIP offers a strategic location, comprehensive support, labour availability, and infrastructure. Some of the infrastructure are its own Power plant, Water purification system, Sewage treatment, and drainage system. This would allow the industrial park to run even in a blackout which is why its a good thing for companies. VSIP also sells Housing Estates, Commercial plots, has cultural and education systems, and a residential area for now. Later once all is completed, it will also compromise of a shopping centre, and financial hub too. A strategic location include the Bac Ninh industrial being nearer to major highway that leads to China, the Hai Phong port, and the rest of the country.
The Housing estates are to have villas, high-rise buildings and supermarkets. As if its a modern town itself.
The infrastructure, labour availability, and the strategic location made VSIP the ideal industrial park for investors and manufacturing companies.

  14. There were around 10 VSIP in Vietnam currently. It was a joint workplace mainly by Singapore, Sembcorp and Vietnam, Becamex Corp. When we first step into the Room, the staff gave us an outline of VSIP Missions and Visions. Their Mission and Vision was to provide a affordable living place where the residence in that area which is Eco Friendly and can also work in well paid jobs for Various companies. Although Some companies had started their Factories in Vietnam, they were only given a permit of 50 years. After the Lease of 50 years, the government will take back the land for the Country's usage. I learnt that every country wants to be respected by other countries and they also want to raise their country's status, by learning how other countries work back in their hometown, they would be able to grasp on how to set up their own Local and International Business Park.

  15. We went to visit the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park where we had a seminar with the managers and learned about the industries in the park, As Singapore has the experience and Vietnam has the resources, they should work together. We also learnt that it was built at a very strategic location. Then, we had a tour around the park where we saw companies like Nokia.
